Troubleshooting
Problem
This document shows how to change the default value for saving access paths when running the GO SAVE Option 21.
Resolving The Problem
To change the SAVLIB command ACCPTH parameter value from *YES to *NO for GO SAVE Option 21, save entire system, do the following:
1. | On the operating system command line, type the following: RTVCLSRC PGM(QSYS/QMNSAVE) SRCFILE(QGPL/QCLSRC) Press the Enter key. |
2. | On the operating system command line, type the following: STRPDM Press the Enter key. Select Option 3, Work with members, and specify file QCLSRC, library QGPL and member QMNSAVE. |
3. | Select Option 2 to change this program. Search for the access path parameter using the F ACCPTH command. |
4. | Change each of two instances of ACCPTH(*YES) to ACCPTH(*NO). |
5. | Re-compile the CL program using Option 14 and Function 4 to prompt for parameters: Program . . . . . . . . . . . . > QMNSAVE Name Library . . . . . . . . . . . > QSYS Name, *CURLIB Source file . . . . . . . . . . > QCLSRC Name Library . . . . . . . . . . . > QGPL Name, *LIBL, *CURLIB Source member . . . . . . . . . > QMNSAVE Name, *PGM Text 'description' . . . . . . . *SRCMBRTXT Additional Parameters Replace program . . . . . . . . > *YES *YES, *NO |
1. It is not recommended to modify IBM-supplied CL programs. If this option is pursued, you should retain a copy of the original IBM program. Also, this program will be overwritten on a release upgrade and would have to be changed again.
2. List of the main program called by save and restore menus:
SAVE menu programs include:
Option 21. Entire system (QMNSAVE)
Option 22. System data only (QSRSAVI)
Option 23. All user data (QSRSAVU)
RESTORE menu programs include:
Option 21. System and user data (QMNRSTE)
Option 22. System data only (QSRRSTI)
Option 23. All user data (QSRRSTU)
